Update from The President

I hope you and your families are all well.

The end is in sight, at least that’s what it feels like. We’ve had a few setbacks but the vaccine and end of lockdown 3 are giving us all cause for optimism.

I wanted to update you on the latest news from CBPC and what we expect to be happening in 2021:

  • Membership fees have been suspended for this year, please do not pay. If you have a standing order set up and monies have already left your account, we will refund you. Please get in touch if you have any concerns.
  • We are looking into the possibility of holding an outdoor summer reception, Peterhouse is not available, we will update you in due course.
  • Our first confirmed event at Queens will be dinner on 21st October. This date is dependant on Government guidelines.
  • We have made booking for lunches at Queens from Wednesday the 10th November followed by 1st December.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to add your details to the website so members can find out more about you and get in touch. This link with take you to the right place.

And finally, the sad news that former CBPC President and retired Banker Jack Merrell passed away peacefully on 16th April. Our thoughts are with his family, wife Tricia and sons Tim, Richard, and Ambrose.

We look forward to seeing you all soon. I will update you as dates become confirmed and share a link to book on to the events.

Here’s hoping!

Best wishes,

Paul

Paul Gibson, CBPC President
